Prof. Bernhard Breil

Prof. Dr. Bernhard Breil is Professor of Health Informatics at Hochschule Niederrhein in Krefeld.

Bernhard Breil studied Medical Informatics at Fachhochschule in Dortmund. While studying for his Master’s degree he was a member of the working group of Prof. Haas, dealing with subjects such as the electronic patient file and medical information systems. In 2008, after receiving his Master’s degree, Bernhard Breil moved to the Institute for Medical Informatics (headed by Prof. Dugas) in Münster, where in 2011 he gained a doctorate on the subject of single source information systems. Afterwards he headed the research group on the ’Architecture and data models of medical information systems’. From 2011 to 2013 he lectured on the ’Principles of Medical Informatics’ at Fachhochschule Dortmund.

In October 2013 Bernhard Breil became Professor of Health Informatics (system integration), lecturing at the Faculty of Healthcare at Hochschule Niederrhein. He is the author of national and international publications and lectures at conferences in Germany and abroad. In 2012 Bernhard Breil became a member of the joint committee on medical informatics of the Association for Informatics and of GMDS.

From 2012 to 2018 he has been acting patron of ’Innovations’ at conhIT and from 2013 to 2018 has been a member of its advisory committee.
