Thorsten Schütz, medical physician with qualification in Medical Informatics.
After completing a degree in medicine at the University of Hamburg and obtaining his medical licence, Mr.Schütz first worked as a physician in the field of internal medicine.After further training and qualification in medical informatics in Munich, followed by several industrial positions in the field of hospital software, he took up the post of head of information technology at the University Teaching Hospital (Klinikum) of Itzehoe.
His current work focuses on IT and medical technology networks and expanding mobile technologies in hospitals.
He is a guest member of the VDE standards committee DIN EN 80001 risk management in medical IT networks and chairman of the examination committee for IT management staff at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Elmshorn.
Mr. Schütz is also an active board member of the Federal Association of Hospital IT Managers (Bundesverband der Krankenhaus-IT-Leiterinnen/Leiter e.V. (KH-IT)) and represents this association as deputy spokesman for the healthcare working group of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Plan (UP KRITIS).
