Prof. Dr. Dietmar Wolff
During my 12 years with the armed forces (Bundeswehr) I undertook officer training. Afterwards, I studied Mechanical Engineering at Helmut Schmidt Universität in Hamburg. After 18 months serving as an officer I gained a doctorate there at the Professorial Department of Control Systems on the subject of ‘A cytotoxicological testing method using modern image processing and pattern recognition methods’. While researching for my doctorate I wrote software for Beiersdorf in Hamburg as a freelance programmer.
In 1999, after gaining my doctorate, I took up employment with MACH AG in Lübeck, a company that specialises in software and consultation work for the public sector in the field of finances, processes and personnel, where I was IT consultant, project manager and acquired commercial power of representation.
As of 2005 I spent seven years as managing director of MICOS GmbH, a company that specialises in software and consultation work in healthcare (focusing on the disabled, the elderly, children, youth support and other related areas), where I was responsible for marketing and sales, consultation, product management, support and software development.
As of 2012 I have supervised a professorial department dealing with information systems and communications systems for business tasks at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at Hochschule Hof, where my responsibilities include lecturing, organisation and business process management, project management and IT in healthcare. Since 2015 I am Vicepresident of science and in charge of the projects "Campus Management System" and "Digitalisierung der Lehre".
I also represent the interests of research and consulting through the Association of Information Technology in the Social Economy and Social Administration (FINSOZ) in an honorary capacity.
