Maryna Khvastova has been working as a research fellow at the University of Applied Sciences HTW Berlin since February 2017.
She is engaged in research in the field of IT security for medical applications. One core topic of her work is implementation of the FHIR standard on the XNAT platform. In addition, she is also a project team member of the IT security laboratory of HTW Berlin and the Fraunhofer Academy.
Apart from her work as research fellow, she also teaches IT security management and IT security at HTW Berlin. Before joining HTW Berlin, she completed a bachelor’s and a master’s degree course in educational science and school education methods, language and English literature at Kherson State University. She then worked as a teacher in Kherson from 2003 to 2011. She moved to Berlin in April 2012 and completed a B.Sc. degree course at HTW Berlin from 2013 to 2016. As a student, she also gathered experience as IT specialist in the hospitality industry.
